Silver Valley volleyball: Trojans get first league win

YERMO • The Silver Valley High School volleyball team picked up its first Desert Mountain League win of the season against Mammoth Friday night.

Silver Valley is now 1-4 in league play and 10-9-3 overall. The Trojans won 3-1 Friday. They took the first two games 25-23 and 25-15. Mammoth answered with a 25-18 win before Silver Valley closed the match with a 32-30 tie breaker victory. Shelby Zamora served an ace and set up the final point of the fourth game for the win.
Brenna Foster led the team on offense and defense with eight aces, seven kills and 13 digs. Alejandra Rodriguez led the team with 13 assists.
