Silver Valley softball playoff run cut short
GRACE BRETHREN 18, SILVER VALLEY 0: At Simi Valley, The Silver Valley softball team is still searching for the program’s first playoff win.
The Trojans fell to the Lancers in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section playoffs on Tuesday. The game marked their fifth-straight appearance in the playoffs, and their highest placing, second, in the Desert Mountain League.
Grace Brethren’s pitcher Kassy Dunn entered the game with an ERA of .750 and shut the Trojans out. She threw 16 strikeouts in the game. Dunn got some help from her offense as well. The Lancers had 21 hits against Silver Valley. Danielle Fletcher had the biggest hit of the day with a home run for Grace Brethren.
Deanna Armstrong threw six strikeouts and four walks for the Trojans.
