ATHLETE OF THE YEAR FINALIST
ALL-PURPOSE
JESSICA FEUERSTINE, SO., SERRANO
Feuerstine won the 400 meters and the 300 hurdles and ran on the winning 4x400 relay team at the MRL finals to be named the league’s track athlete of the year. She also took third in the 100 hurdles. She competed in the 800 and 1,600 during the season as well.
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR FINALIST
DISTANCE (800/1,600/3,200)
ARIELLE STEVENSON, SO., VICTOR VALLEY
Stevenson ran the Division I 800 meters in 2:16.72 (a school record) for seventh place and became the first alternate for Masters. She won the 800 and ran on the winning 4x100 relay team at the DSL finals.
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR FINALIST
THROWS (DISCUS/SHOT PUT)
SAMANTHA TEOFILO, JR., APPLE VALLEY
Teofilo made the Division III finals in the shot put and discus for the Sun Devils, while also winning the shot put and taking third in the discus at the MRL finals.
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR FINALIST
HIGH JUMP/POLE VAULT
THEA WEISS, SR., GRANITE HILLS
Weiss finished third at the Division II finals in the pole vault to advance to Masters for the first time. Not only did she win the pole vault at the DSL finals, but she also finished second in the 100 meters. Weiss won the seeded event at the Mt. SAC Relays.
HURDLES
NISHA BARRETT, JR., BARSTOW
Barrett, also a basketball star for the Aztecs, earned an alternate spot in the 200 meters at the Division III finals. She won DSL championships in the 100 hurdles and the 200.
SPRINTS (100/200/400)
TREASURIE HATTEN, JR., VICTOR VALLEY
Hatten won a DSL championship in the 100 meters and ran on the winning 4x100-meter relay team. She also set a school record in the 300 hurdles with a time of 46 seconds flat.
LONG JUMP/TRIPLE JUMP
STEPHANIE HEARN, SR., SULTANA
Hearn took first in the long jump and triple jump at the MRL finals and was named the league’s field athlete of the year. She also competed in the high jump at the MRL finals for the Sultans.
COACH OF THE YEAR
PAT BRANNON, SILVERADO
The second-year coach led the Hawks to their first-ever girls league title in school history. Also, his boys team finished second in the DSL.
