U.S. runs on corporations, unions

In response to “Corporations are not people, too”:

When is Ms. Jensen going to realize that without unions and corporations we would have no economy? Nada, zero. Jobs would not exist at all.

Without her teacher’s union to represent her and her fellow workers, she would not earn enough to buy toilet paper.
People, the United States is broke.

I’d like to hear Obama quote John F. Kennedy when he said “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Benjamin Franklin would be good too. “The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.”

The Supreme Court did what it’s suppose to do.

Ms. Jensen has a warped sense of the government in our country. The house can’t pass anything because the conservatives will not let them pass all that garbage. Those who were bribed should be thrown out of office.

Ms. DeLeon’s letter to the editor is yet another example of a reader who can’t read or comprehend what she has tried to read. In her column “Corporations are not people, too” Ms. Jensen in no way was anti-business or anti-union. She made the valid point that allowing big business or unions for that matter to donate billions of dollars for ads against a particular candidate would invalidate the voices of the American voters. Why should big business be allowed to choose our president and congressional members? This is not only a bad idea, but it is un-American. Our country was founded on “We the people,” not “We the corporations.” The voices of the American people should not be drowned out by the big bucks of big business in our electoral process. Big business should mind its own business, and Ms. DeLeon should learn how to read.
