Governor's priorities disturbing

I am writing in regards to two matters about Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that have recently been reported in the news.

First, the fact that Schwarzenegger stated on June 6 that he was “happy” illegal immigrants were being provided state services in the amount of $4 to $5 billion from our already overburdened budget shortfall of $24.3 billion. That is outrageous on the face of it, but then to see the statement he made on June 7, when he proposed cutting the programs for our own poor, elderly, and working mothers and their children, some 546,000 families. These are legal citizens of our state, and I am totally outraged and dismayed by his callous and uncaring attitude toward his own people, while “happily” showering our taxes on those who have no legal right to our limited funds.

I worked on both of his campaigns for office, believing he was a man of his word, when he said he would “clean house” in Sacramento and make California a fiscally stable state once again. I see he is not what I believed him to be. He is a Republican in name only, and if he runs for office again, even if it is for dog catcher, I will actively campaign against him and enlist all of my friends and family to do so.

He should hang his head in shame for betraying the people of this great state.
