'We the People'
This is my 68th Fourth of July. Happy Independence Day everyone. As usual I read the Declaration of Independence to refresh myself on why and how we took on the most powerful nation and military on earth to gain our independence. Why we did is clearly stated in the Declaration. How we did it is because "We the People" were willing to die as free men and women rather than submit to tyranny.
As we look at the state of our country today we are beginning to see the growing tendency of our professional politicians to lead us back into tyranny. The House and Senate no longer care about the Constitution and its limits. They have been corrupted by power. They are corrupt and do the bidding of special interest groups who are willing to pay to get their agendas enacted. You and me and how those agendas may hurt us personally and the country as a whole is no longer important. If you can't pay, you can't play.
I have an idea that will end the corruption and partisan divide that has been destroying our Republic for many decades. I propose we "Draft America."
Instead of elections for the House and Senate we draft our fellow Americans. It virtually eliminates the gridlock and inability of our politicians to stand up to the special interests and their parties. It has the added benefit of imposing term limits and forcing them to live under the laws they passed. I have more confidence in 535 randomly selected fellow citizens than I do in the professional politicians we have now.
Here's the basics of what I'm thinking. Each member of the House should be at least 40 years of age and been a citizen of the United States for 15 years. They will serve a single term of four years with half being replaced every two years. Each member of the Senate should be at least 50 years of age and been a citizen of the United States for 20 years. They will serve a single term of six years with one-third being replaced every two years. They will also have the restriction of not being able to be drafted into the other house of Congress. They can, however, be appointed by the President to positions he is legally entitled to and can run for other elected office.
I believe this is a good starting point to begin the discussion of how "We the People" will take back our government and ensure the founding principles of limited government are returned to.
Illegal fireworks increasing
During the 4th of July holiday the launching of illegal and dangerous pyrotechnics in my neighborhood (Green Tree East) has been exceeding each preceding year. Over the past several years the type, increased size and potentially dangerous pyrotechnics result in some explosions and starbursts equal to or exceeding the magnitude of those seen at legal professional fireworks displays.
Trying to contact the Police Department only brought on more frustration due to their busy signal or busy dispatch recording, so the explosions blasted and sparks flew well past midnight.
Fire agencies in Kern County are using Low Orbiting Incident Satellites (LOIS) drones in conjunction with paroling officers to locate and fine illegal fireworks offenders. Reportedly, the fines paid by the miscreants far exceed the cost of the program. Something must be done locally to stop this annual, flagrant disregard for the safety and property rights of others.

New declaration of independence
President Trump is being relentlessly maligned by Demoncrats and attacked by the Pravda-style press for one reason and one reason only. They have been beaten by American patriots. Indeed, not so different from the patriots who declared independence from the tyranny of a ruthless king and kingdom.
Clearly, President Trump is like General George Washington leading patriots in the fight against the tyranny of King Obama and his Demoncrat Congress un-American legacy — and would-be-Queen Hillary Clinton’s continuation of it.
Indeed, President Trump, a Republican Congress and American patriots won the election, but not the war against Demoncrat tyranny in our country. Therefore, on this July 4th, 2017, patriots must followup with a new declaration of independence and freedom from the enemy within….

There is an answer
No real Christian has ever murdered anyone. Defense of life, liberty and defense of others is not murder. God flooded the earth because there was only one family (Noah's) that wasn't wicked. As before man has become wicked by breaking God's commandments of love and forgiveness and brought wickedness of lust, perversion, sickness, disease, war, murder and other calamities to this earth.
Man has also decided he can do a better job of taking care of this earth than the Creator. According to God's word (Revelation) it won't be long before God (Jesus) brings His justice to earth again by death and destruction for all the wickedness man is doing. Man has said there is no God, time will prove them wrong, by then it will be too late. John 3:16 is your answer, look it up.
Take a deep breath
On July 7, a frequent ranting bloviating contributor again attacked 63 million fellow Americans with his tiresome denigrating name calling diatribe. "Repugnicans" is his favorite demeaning moniker. Perhaps he might consider consulting the dictionary for a definition regarding rant. He is perfecting the art therein. A better grasp of sentence construction and syntax would also be helpful in alleviating his incoherent rambling insults and spewing misinformation. He also could profit by doing more research regarding Humanism.
I stated in the letter he referenced that personal attacks rather than debating policy only fuels rabid and, at times, lethal actions. Many, such as the attempted assassination of the congressmen at a baseball practice which have been reported in the news lately, all promulgated by crazed far-left zealots, give proof to my statement.
There is no arguing the deranged behavior stems from hatred similar to the ravings of the writer from Barstow. It is my right to choose what my conscience, not any religion, guides me as the correct decisions concerning my personal life, my autonomy. First Amendment. "No establishement of religion ..."
As to his acidic criticism of my lack of belief in the supernatural as evil and suppressing human rights and freedom, he displays his own bigotry and lack of knowledge. I am an Independent, a bit Libertarian (smaller government) and a patriotic American. Interesting that he claims to know who likes me or not as he has never met me. FYI, sir, I receive many in-person complimentary comments as well as phone calls, including one from a lovely intelligent 99-year-old Christian woman who reads my letters.
Of course, there are those with opposing views, but none that can match your vitriolic eruptions.
Time to adjust to the results of the election — take a deep breath! For your own health before you blow a gasket.
