More English in California

The letter on Sunday, "English in California," appalls me, and makes me feel sorry for the writer, and millions of us who were deprived ( some still are) of the true history of the United States. His letter is so full of inaccuracies, it is pitiful.

1) English is not, and as long as we have a Constitution and Bill of Rights, never will be the official language. Yes, it is the most widely used language in America, for many reasons.

2) "We all know, and the world knows, we are an English speaking country going back to 1776." Wrong! Spanish was the first spoken language (other than the 500+Native American dialects) in the Caribbean when Columbus brought it to America, beginning in 1492!

3) "I am 100 percent American in ancestry"? Only Native Americans, whose ancestors have been here for millions of years, can truthfully make that statement.

4) "we did not speak Spanish in combat." Wrong! Ever hear of The Borincaneers, an all-Latino (Mexican, Cuban and mostly Puerto Rican) award-winning battalion in Korea? Or the highly decorated All-Mexican American battalion in World War II, against the Germans, in France and Italy?

5) As a free diverse country, no one is demanding to use any particular culture or language and bring it into our streets. This is a misconception. The only language that was forced upon us as children was the English language, using physical abuse. So I guess our teachers were being rude?

To be continued next week.

God Bless America!

Had it with Cook

Re: "Cartoon right on," Letters to the Editor, June 12, 2017 ...

Excellent letter. This man has wonderful ideas about our local roads on how to solve our massive congestion problems and now his thoughts in this letter. How wonderful it would be to have him as our local congressman! Rep. Paul Cook is a complete flop! I notice he has now given up on his Desert Protection Bill. A child could get that passed in our present Republican majority. Instead he lets a liberal far-left socialist Dianne Feinstein run our High Desert and destroy our lovely High Desert.

The Mojave Preserve is run by a bunch of Cooks who don't promote the Preserve as was promised. Very few people go there and thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of local revenue are lost to our cities. What a complete shame. Congressman Cook, you are the most worthless politician in my lifetime! A true fakalolo! Please High Desert, let's get rid of this horrible curse of congressman.

We have so many great leaders in our High Desert. Let's get them in office!

Trump’s Tea Party revolution

The insidious radical left has assaulted America, our Constitution and our revolutionary history of freedom for nearly a century, until big government, education indoctrination and the media finally overwhelmed the American people’s liberty with the election of socialist President Obama and the aggressive Democrat Congress in 2008.

Indeed, the takeover would have been complete if it were not for the formerly Silent Generation revolt of the conservative Republican Tea Party resistance. Meanwhile President Obama and the Democrat Congress rapidly expanded the tyranny of big government, while allowing radical Islamic terrorism to proliferate throughout the Middle East and around the World.

Fortunately, the 2016 presidential election produced Republican candidate Donald Trump, which spontaneously aroused Tea Party conservatives and the remainder of what was still the majority of Americans, who elected Trump and a Republican Congress to save America, push back against the scurrilous left, and begin to recover from the depths of the damages.

Unfortunately, the malevolent left has gone on an all-out assault against President Trump with regular street demonstrations, town hall harassment, relentless media attacks and un-American Democrats in government. Clearly, President Trump and the Tea Party revolution must win the fight for the survival of our nation with a tough Republican congress.

Hatred in America

Did the author of “Hatred in America” condemn the violence and disrespect shown to our president when Barack Obama was in office? President Obama was one of the best, most popular and most successful presidents our nation ever had, moving us forward into the 21st Century and bringing respect and admiration back to the U.S. after eight years of George W. Bush. Yet conservatives and the fake media of the right spent eight years smearing, slandering, threatening and lying about him, with much of what was said and done being far more offensive than what Kathy Griffin did, and the Republican Congress literally swore an oath to oppose anything he supported.

She seems to believe that we should forget about all of this and those who dare speak out against the idiotic, obnoxious boob the people did not choose to replace Obama should be “dealt with”, like other countries (Russia, China, North Korea…) do, First Amendment be damned.  It’s okay to make vicious, racist remarks about Obama but Heaven forbid anybody rightfully criticize Donald Trump (who played the race card every day) for the damage he has done to our country, for turning our nation’s biggest allies against us, making ignorance and bigotry acceptable and his treasonous connections to Russia. We’re just supposed to put on our big kid panties and “get over it”. Like they got over Obama?  They even think Tim Allen’s lame TV show was cancelled because he was pro-Trump.

Kathy Griffin just illustrated the frustration many Americans are feeling right now. Satan is indeed working overtime in America trying to take us down from the inside out, and with Donald Trump he has the perfect weapon to do it.  Trump has done more damage to our country in six months than all of our enemies combined have in nearly 250 years. His ignorance and arrogance has so appalled our nation’s allies that they are now afraid of us and no longer trust us as Trump continues to rant and rave and tweet like the demented crackpot that he really is while hundreds of important positions in our government remain unfilled. He and his depraved minions are the biggest threat our nation has ever faced. He’s the one that has turned us into a big joke. Those speaking out against him and the damage he is doing to our country are true patriots, it’s those who blindly support anything he says or does that are the traitors.

Our nation has indeed become Democrats versus Republicans, and the Republicans were so desperate to have an “R” in the White House that they supported the most vile, unfit, unqualified and delusional person to ever seek the office and now we’re all paying the price. They are the ones we need to replace in 2018 so we can undo the carnage Trump has brought upon our country and truly make America great again.
