Stephen Nagy (left), a distribution operator for the Golden State Water Company, hands a box with four frozen turkeys to his co-worker James Sheriff (right) at Desert Manna Ministries on Monday.

The Golden State Water Company donated 100 turkeys Monday to the homeless shelter, and 34th district Assemblywoman Connie Conway, who represents Barstow, was there to present them. The turkeys will go into Desert Manna’s Thanksgiving baskets. The shelter is hoping to distribute 400 turkeys, said Sheri Randolph, the shelter’s executive director.

According to Jesse Ramirez, Golden State Water Company representative, the company will donate another 128 turkeys to the shelter Tuesday. The water company gives away between 2,800 and 3,000 turkeys annually, Ramirez estimated.
