Former San Manuel Chairman ahead for 3rd District Supervisor seat

James Ramos is ahead in the San Bernardino County 3rd District Supervisor race to unseat incumbent Neil Derry, with 58 percent of the vote, according to preliminary results released Tuesday night.

“The early numbers are very encouraging,” Ramos campaign spokesperson Andre Levesque said Tuesday night. “We’ll keep monitoring them but the early results show what we’ve seen on the campaign trail.”

Derry, who is from Redlands, is the current 3rd District Supervisor. He trailed Ramos by 6,559 votes with 13 percent of precincts reporting.

The San Bernardino County 3rd District encompasses the most eastern portion of the county in addition to Barstow, Lucerne Valley, Twentynine Palms, Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, portions of Redlands, Yucaipa, Highland and San Bernardino to the south.

Check back later for updated results, with new counts due for release by 10:30 p.m.
