Fourth suspect charged, arrested in Mollie's Pub shooting
BARSTOW• A fourth suspect in the September shooting at Mollie’s Pub that left two men injured has been arrested and charged with accessory to attempted murder, according to officials.
Eileen Vigil, 32, of Barstow was arrested Tuesday in Fort Irwin at her place of work and taken into custody by the Barstow Police Department.
She is the wife of Jonathan Vigil, 33, of Barstow, who is charged with attempted murder in the same incident and currently remains at large.
On Oct. 12, Jonathan Vigil was arrested in Las Vegas for a domestic violence incident with Eileen Vigil. He identified himself as James Zenda to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police officers on scene, but a fingerprint check revealed his actual identity. He was then mistakenly released by Las Vegas Metropolitan Jail for the attempted murder warrant in Barstow, officials said.
After his release, Eileen Vigil was contacted by Barstow Police and claimed that she had not seen Jonathan Vigil, did not know he had been in Las Vegas and did not know his whereabouts.
Eileen Vigil is also charged with participation in a criminal street gang. Further investigation is continuing, according to officials.
On Sept. 22, at approximately 12:26 a.m., a bartender from Mollie’s Pub at 1309 E. Main St. in Barstow called 911 to report a shooting. Several Barstow police officers responded and found two men in the bar suffering from gunshot wounds to their legs. Both men were taken to Barstow Community Hospital and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Jonathan Vigil — along with Samuel Weitz, 32, and Jesus Perez, 23, both also of Barstow and currently in custody — were identified by numerous witnesses to be the suspects. All three are known members of a local, criminal street gang, while the intended victim was a member of a rival gang.
