BARSTOW— At 7:30 p.m. on Monday the Barstow City Council will meet to hear an update about casino projects proposed for the city and to discuss strategies to hire an interim and permanent city manager.
The council will also consider authorizing the purchase of earthquake disaster kits for city employees and hear an update about water testing in the Soap Mine Road area. County Assessor Bill Postmus will give his annual report about the city’s property values and present a proclamation for Barstow’s 60th birthday.
Council members will meet in closed session to discuss pending litigation with Ronald Paddack.
The council will also recognize the Barstow High School Boys’ Cross Country team and Raquel Beezley for their accomplishments. The cross country team recently won a state championship. Beezley, a former Miss. Barstow, was recently named Miss California.
The council will meet at council chambers at City Hall, 220 E. Mountain View. Regularly scheduled meetings are televised live on Time Warner Cable channel 6 and recordings are placed on the city’s Web site, www.barstowca.org.
