Fort Irwin man killed in Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS • A 20-year-old man stationed at Fort Irwin died of multiple injuries at about 3:45 a.m. Monday on the northbound side of Interstate 15 south of State Route 138 in the Cajon Pass.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene at about 3:30 a.m. for a vehicle that had struck the rear of a disabled tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of the highway, according to a San Bernardino County Coroner’s report.Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The man’s name will be released when his next-of-kin is notified.

On 02/07/10 at about 3:30 AM, officers from the California Highway Patrol were sent to the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 south of State Route 138 for a vehicle that had struck the rear of a disabled tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder at that location. When they arrived, they found a 20 year-old male resident of Fort Irwin, with multiple injuries. Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the male subject dead at the scene at 3:45 AM. The name will be released when next-of-kin have been notified.
