Boy bites man to escape kidnapping

BARSTOW • Police are searching for a man accused of trying to kidnap a 12-year-old boy, who escaped after biting the man.

The boy was walking home in the 1100 block of Navajo Street at about 9:11 p.m. Friday when he was approached by a male subject of unknown age and race, the victim told police.

The suspect grabbed the boy’s arm and said “come with me.” The boy bit the suspect in the arm until he released him, then both fled in opposite directions.

The suspect is described at 5 feet, 8 inches tall and with a “chunky” build. He was wearing a black hoody and red pants.

Police searched the area, but did not find the suspect. It is also not known if the suspect had a vehicle or fled the area on the foot.
