Barstow credit union robbed

BARSTOW • A man robbed the Pacific Marine Credit Union on Yucca Avenue in Barstow on Wednesday night and made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Sgt. Andy Espinoza Sr. said that man walked into the credit union around 5 p.m., said he had a gun and demanded cash.

Witnesses described the suspect as a heavy-set Hispanic man in his mid-thirties wearing a baseball hat and light-colored shirt and shorts. Espinoza said the man was seen heading west on foot and a witness said they saw the man near the 1400 block of Riverside Drive.

Police blocked off the street and went house to house with their canine unit on Riverside Drive and  Carmen Drive but did not locate the suspect.
