Third District County Supervisor adds Barstow Community Liaison
BARSTOW • San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor James Ramos appointed a Community Services Liaison to his staff for Barstow and Lucerne Valley.
The Board of Supervisors approved the contract for Beverly Lowry during a board meeting Tuesday. The estimated annual amount of the contract is $36,138 in salary and $737 in benefits.
“Beverly Lowry has been a strong advocate for the communities in the High Desert for many years. I believe she is well-equipped to serve Barstow and Lucerne Valley as the Community Liaison,” Ramos said in a press release.
“We look forward to the work we have ahead of us and are happy to have Beverly working with us to serve the Third District,” he said.
Beverly is a longtime resident of Barstow and has served as a Field Representative at both the county and state level. She has also served on the Barstow Heights Community Services District and currently serves as a director with the Mojave Water Agency.
According to the press release, she will work to bring awareness to issues facing the Barstow and Lucerne Valley communities and residents and will be responsible for keeping the supervisor informed of ongoing projects and community needs.
Ramos was elected as supervisor in the November elections. The San Bernardino County third district is comprised of approximately 36 communities covering such distances as Barstow to Redlands, Big Bear and Twentynine Palms.
