Bureau of Land Management welcomes new Barstow field office manager
BARSTOW • The Bureau of Land Management’s Barstow Field Office will soon welcome a new field manager.
Katrina Symons, who currently serves as the Roseburg district manager in Oregon, will start in early November.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to be involved with the future of this vital area,” Symons said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working with the staff and the stakeholders to protect its resources, promote recreation, and harness the area’s array of renewable resources.”
Symons previously worked as a forester, natural resourcesstaff administrator, land management planning specialist, and planning and environmental coordinator. She graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1984 with a degree in forest management.
“Katrina comes with a wealth of federal land management experience — both with the BLM and the U.S. Forest Service,” said Teri Raml, BLM California Desert District manager, in a statement. “Her management experience working with diverse community interests, as well as state and local agencies, will be of great benefit to the California Desert District.”
