Las Vegas man dies in crash near Amboy

AMBOY • A  59-year-old Las Vegas man was killed when his car rolled on National Trails Highway outside of Amboy Thursday.

Peter Lengo was driving eastbound on National Trails Highway, 13 miles west of Amboy, when his car drifted off the road, according to a California Highway Patrol report. The car rolled end over end before landing approximately 500 feet from the road. Lengo suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Lengo was not wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP report. The San Bernardino County Fire Department and Morongo Basin emergency personnel responded to the collision.

There were no passengers in Lengo’s car and no other cars were involved in the collision.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
