Barstow residents flocked to the sixth annual Mid Summer Arts Festival at the Desert Discovery Center on Saturday, reveling in the wide range of free activities available.

Besides a tour of the murals on Main Street, there were live animals, craft programs, musical entertainment and more.

The annual event featured youth and adult art shows, allowing residents to enjoy works in various media. Awards were given in watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media and photography.

Adults perused unique handmade craft booths, while children enjoyed arts and crafts activities.

A dance performance from Studio M Dance Company capped the day's activities.
