Since its grand opening on Jan. 27, the Barstow Area Center for Entrepreneurs has been striving to help the community succeed by offering various business, educational and personal services.

The nonprofit organization has scheduled a Business Development Acquisition Forecast Forum and Open House for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, although this is just “the second of many to come,” according to BACE CEO Paul Courtney. The event will be held at BACE, 1041 W. Main St., Barstow.

“Our mission, goal and purpose is to see people prosper,” Courtney said.

During the open house, attendees can expect to come across various business opportunities as they will be able to meet business representatives and specialists.

Aerotech Precision Machining and On The Rise Inc. are just two of the many vendors that will be present, seeking new business opportunities.

The Procurement Assistance Center, from the Riverside Community College District, has partnered with BACE on the event as the center provides assistance to businesses seeking to market their services to the federal, state and local government.

Barstow Area Chamber of Commerce officials and Fort Irwin representatives will be on hand as well. Officials anticipate a discussion of Fort Irwin’s expected contracting opportunities for 2017 followed by other shared briefings.

Although BACE is in its “first phase” of opening due to limited services, Courtney said that the organization has been doing great. The “second phase” will begin May 18 as the resource, E corner market, tutoring and business office will be in full operation.

“We hope to see people in the pursuit of happiness,” Courtney said. “We want to give opportunities; people think we don’t care but this center will show that we do.”

Thursday's open house is free to attend. Sponsorship opportunities are also available by emailing ppaccln2@aol.com.
