BARSTOW — A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary early Thursday morning at a local business in Barstow, officials said.
Just after 3 a.m., officers from the Barstow Police Station responded to a commercial burglary alarm at Coldwell Banker, located on 530 Barstow Road, detecting a break in and interior motion at the business.
Officers arrived on scene and observed a subject, later identified as Christopher Hollos, of Barstow, exiting the business through a door with what appeared to be a laptop computer. As officers approached Hollos, he fled on foot while additional responding officers set up a perimeter around the business in an effort to contain Hollos, officials said.
During a search of the business, officers located a broken window and Hollos was eventually located hiding in some bushes on the property. Officers also found two laptop computers and a computer monitor where Hollos was hiding.
A representative from the business responded and confirmed two laptop computers and a computer monitor were stolen during the burglary as officers processed the scene and collected evidence related to the burglary.
Hollos, who is currently on parole, was arrested and booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Barstow Station jail for burglary and parole violation, officials said.
