BARSTOW — A 24-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after authorities say they found two handguns, three rifles, a shotgun and multiple rounds of ammunition inside his vehicle.

Barstow police arrested Mosab Omar Snoubar on Sunday afternoon after responding to a report of a brandished firearm on Lenwood Road.

Police said they received a report that the driver of a gold Ford pickup truck brandished the gun at another vehicle while merging onto Interstate 15.

“As the gold Ford truck entered the on-ramp, another vehicle turned in front of the vehicle resulting in the driver producing a handgun and brandishing it at the occupants of the other vehicle,” Capt. Andy Espinoza Jr. said.

A witness followed the suspect vehicle and informed police it was exiting at Barstow Road.

Police located the vehicle southbound on Barstow Road and then conducted a traffic stop.

Officers contacted both the driver and the passenger and conducted an in-field show-up with the witness.

“The witness positively identified the driver, Snoubar, as the person who brandished the handgun,” Espinoza said.

Snoubar was placed under arrested on suspicion of brandishing a weapon and possession of a stolen weapon after police searched his vehicle, allegedly finding the guns, including a 9 mm pistol that was reported stolen in a residential burglary in Barstow in November.

“Officers seized all of the firearms and ammunition as evidence,” Espinoza said.

Booking records show that Snoubar posted $50,000 bail and was released from custody late Sunday night.
