BARSTOW — With two weeks until the Nov. 8 General Election results will be certified, Barstow Community College Trustee Fred Baca has opened a 54-vote lead over Patricia Rosenberg for the final seat on the board.
Baca only held an 11-vote lead when results were posted by the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters on Nov. 9. Baca told the Desert Dispatch after election night that he would wait to declare victory until the results were certified on Dec. 6.
Paul Wilkey still has the most votes in the race for the three college board seats, with 5,043. Incumbent Ted Baca is second with 4,029.
In the race for three seats on the Barstow Unified School District Board of Trustees, incumbent Julie Clemmer still leads with 27 percent of the vote. Kris Okamuro and Barbara Rose are second and third, respectively. None is in jeopardy of losing, however.
Measure F continues to hold 66 percent of the vote, well above the 55 percent needed to approve the $39 million bond to pay for infrastructure improvements in the district.
