BARSTOW• Two people are wanted for attempted murder after shooting a 22-year-old woman in the lower back while she waited for a bus, police said Wednesday.
Officers responded to the call of shots fired on the 900 block of Armory Road at approximately 2:19 p.m. Monday afternoon, according to a police news release.
Police found the woman with the gunshot wound who told them that she was standing at the bus stop with her boyfriend when the suspects drove up in an older model Ford Taurus sedan, faded gold in color.
There was a verbal exchange between the suspects and the victim’s boyfriend, at which time a passenger in the front seat of the Taurus fired one shot from a handgun in the direction of the woman and her boyfriend, the victim told police.
The suspects sped east on Armory Road. They are described only as a black male adult driver and a black or Hispanic male adult passenger, according to police.
Barstow Fire Department paramedics treated the victim at the scene and she was subsequently taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, police said.
