BARSTOW • The Bureau of Land Management has added a public meeting in Barstow for the proposed 300-megawatt Stateline Solar Farm on the California side of the Nevada border.
The project is expected to generate enough electricity to power 90,000 homes.
The Barstow meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express at 2700 Lenwood Rd. from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
The BLM is soliciting public comments on planning issues, concerns, potential impacts, alternatives, and mitigation measures that should be considered in the analysis of the proposed action, according to the BLM website. Public comments will be used to prepare final environmental documents and plan amendment regarding the project.
The proposed location for the solar farm is two miles south of the California-Nevada border and a half-mile west of Interstate 15.
Public meetings will also be held on Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Primm Valley Golf Club in Nipton, Calif.
Additional details on the proposed solar energy project can be found online ww.blm.gov. For information, contact Jeffery Childers at 951-697-5308, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. The comment period ends Feb. 21.
