Three arrested in Verizon burglary
Two men, one juvenile nabbed for pre-dawn break-in
BARSTOW • Two men and a juvenile were caught attempting to flee the Verizon Wireless store after a pre-dawn break-in, authorities said.
Barstow police arrested Bernard Mabinton, 25, Kenneth Glenn, 20, and a 16-year-old early Sunday morning.
A Stater Bros. employee on break called police at 3:39 a.m. to report a burglary in-progress. The employee told authorities that individuals were inside the business and a window was broken, according to a Barstow Police Department news release.
As officers arrived, three suspects ran out the rear door of the store, according to the news release.
One suspect was caught immediately, a second suspect was caught not far away and a third suspect was found in a wash near Interstate 15 northbound lanes, according to authorities.
Authorities said the suspects possessed merchandise stolen from the store. The total value of the swiped goods was not immediately known.
Glenn and Mabinton are being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $25,000 bail, according to booking records.
The two are due to be arraigned Tuesday at the Victorville courthouse, court records show.
The 16-year-old was booked at the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley, according to the news release.
