Man dies days after being struck by car
BARSTOW • An 87-year-old man succumbed to injuries Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle last week.
Calvin Bottum, a Coalinga resident, died of injuries he suffered after a car struck him on Friday in Barstow, according a the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner report.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. Nov. 29, Bottum was walking across the road in the 1500 block of Main Street when he was struck by the vehicle, the report states.
Bottum was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8:20 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Further details were not immediately available Wednesday afternoon from the Barstow Police Department, which was investigating the collision.
