Events at Barstow Senior Center
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., will be offering the following programs on Friday: The Mojave Valley Carvers from 8 to 11 a.m. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Beef tips, rice, broccoli, potatoes, salad, gelatin with fruit. Jim from United Health Care will explain the new Medicaid rules for seniors on Medicare / Medicaid at 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Important information you need to know.
Please help out The Barstow Senior Center while doing your part to keep cell phones out of the landfill. The Center is accepting old unused cell phones. Drop boxes located at, The Center, The Senior Thrift Shop, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Rosita’s, Humane Society, and Superior Supplements & Source.
The Barstow Senior Thrift Store located at 929 E Williams is an amazing resource for getting great, high-quality, unique and inexpensive clothes and other household items, and our Furniture Specialty Store, 907 E. Williams, have great bargains also. Open 7 days a week with Senior Discount day on Wednesdays. Seniors receive 50 percent off except furniture. ‘The Hope Hut’ blowout sale
New Hope Village is pleased to announce managing the “The Hope Hut” building, 404 E. Mt. View, at First United Methodist Church (behind the water towers at Mt. View and Barstow Road). A blowout sale will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and again from 8 a.m. to noon. There are file cabinets, couches, love seats, recliners, desks at $25 each. Stuff a bag of clothing for $5 a bag. VHS and cassette tapes 4/$1, paperbacks 10/$1, hardbacks 4/$1, albums $ each, knickknacks 4/$1, Christmas decorations 4/$1, shoes at .50 each, household items $1 each, lamps and misc. chairs $5 each. Barstow Mall craft fair and mini swap meet
Barstow Mall is holding a craft fair and swap meet every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Space is free for non-profit organizations and all others are $5 for one spot or $10 for two spots. Must have tables for merchandise or rentals available for $1. Raffles and entertainment.

‘God and Country Day’ at First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 1320 Barstow Road, will hold a special “God and Country Day” service on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Jubilate Singers will present a musical celebration called “Homeland”, with narration by Pastor Eddie Pate.
