Ramos adds Big Bear Field Rep
BARSTOW • Third District Supervisor James Ramos has added a Field Representative to his staff for the Big Bear Valley communities.
“In choosing a field representative for the mountains, I wanted someone with knowledge of the issues facing these communities, and someone who is dedicated to helping solve the needs of these residents,” Ramos said in a press release.
The Board of Supervisors approved the contract for longtime Big Bear Lake resident Elizabeth “Liz” Harris at Tuesday’s Board meeting, according to the press release.
Harris served as Mayor for Big Bear Lake from 2002 to 2004, as well as in 2010. She also served on the City Council from 2000 to 2012. Her involvement in the mountain community also includes serving on the board for both the Big Bear Area Wastewater Agency and the Mountain Area Regional Transit Authority Board.
According to the press release, Harris will work to bring awareness to issues facing the Big Bear Valley residents and be responsible for keeping the Supervisor informed of community needs and ongoing projects in the mountains.
“Liz is the right person to take on this task,” Ramos said. “She has been an active member in her community and has a strong understanding of the needs of its residents.”
