More than dozen arrested in prostitution sweep

BARSTOW • The Barstow Police Department arrested 15 men during a prostitution sting Friday.

The police arrested 12 men and a juvenile on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute Friday. Officers also arrested a man on suspicion of sale of marijuana and another man on suspicion of being drunk in public.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the Alcohol Beverage Control Department worked with the police on the operation. Decoys from the agencies were solicited for prostitution during the sting and the suspects were arrested according to a police department report.

• Police responded to a report of a disturbance on the 100 block of North Yucca Avenue at 12:28 a.m.

• Police arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of being drunk in public on the corner of North Fifth Avenue and Clark Street at 11:57 p.m.
• Someone reported a battery on the 700 block of East Main Street at 9:26 p.m.
• Police responded to a disturbance on the 1500 block of Nancy Street at 8:44 p.m.
• A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer and a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, driving without proof of insurance and failure to stop on the corner of North Third Avenue and Hutchinson Street at 8:39 p.m.
• Police responded to a report of a battery on the 1100 block of Barstow Road at 4:09 p.m.
• Someone reported vandalism on the 200 block of East Main Street at 3:52 p.m.

• Dennis Howard, 26, was arrested on suspicion of burglary on the 100 block of Crooks Avenue at 11:34 a.m.
