Monday

Barstow Heights CSD meeting
Barstow Heights Community Service District will hold its monthly meeting on Monday at 6 p.m., at 28075 Rimrock Road.

Events at Barstow Senior Center
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., will be offering the following programs on Monday: The Photo Group meets from 9 to 11 am. Koffee Klub, a new social gathering sponsored by Cambrian Homecare & Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group, from 9 to a.m. Come enjoy coffee an refreshments and games. Scan will be here to answer your health care questions from 10 to  11 a.m. Computer classes will be offering 2 sessions one from 11:30 to 12:30 and one 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Beef stroganoff, peas and carrots, salad, roll and pears The Travel Group will be meeting at 1 p.m. to discuss upcoming trips. Drop in and check out the other activities that are going on during the day like puzzles and card games and the library has many books to choose from. The Center will be opened from 9 to 3 today. NARFE meeting
The National Association of Retired and Federal Employees Chapter #1564 will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday at Sizzler Restaurant. Gwenda Mapa, guest speaker from Talons Group, will discuss up to date government benefits. Barstow coalition meeting to address local alcohol and drug issues
A Barstow coalition meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, in the meeting room at Quigley’s Restaurant, 2841 Lenwood Road. This will be the first in a series of meetings where Barstow community members are invited to voice concerns about local alcohol and drug issues as well as offer ideas about working in partnership to create effective solutions. This first meeting will primarily focus on underage drinking and drug use in the community. The meeting will include discussion about how to reduce availability of alcohol and drugs to youth. Barstow Aglow

Meet and greet
The public is invited to a meet and greet being held for James Ramos, candidate for county supervisor, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Holiday Inn Express, 2700 Lenwood Road. The event is sponsored by Abundant Living Fellowship. For information, call 760-252-5446.

Bingo
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., has its weekly Bingo game on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. There will be a Promotional Lucky5 game being played will have a guaranteed winner of $600. Game will be played until won. The Lucky 5 game will be discontinued as of May 29. Buy in is $15. Take advantage of the delicious menu at the Bingo Grill. American Legion Auxiliary #324 to serve dinner
The American Legion Auxiliary #324, 2181 Armory Road, will be serving a patty melt with pasta salad and dessert on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until gone. Open to the public from dine-in or take-out. Taco Tuesday
American Legion Post 751 in Newberry Spring, 30916 Newberry Road, will be selling $1 tacos on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Free legal help
Do you need help with legal papers? Come to free Legal Aid on the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon, at the Cora Harper Fitness Center, 851 Barstow Road (mobile unit in rear parking lot). They can help with family law, guardianship, conservatorship, support, custody, or visitation or parental rights and bankruptcy. Please bring all case documents and information with you.

Sing and Sign
The Barstow Branch Library, 304 E. Buena Vista, is hosting sign language classes on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. Learn simple signs and listen to songs that were designed to practice the specific signs. For information, call 760-256-4850.

‘One Step’ drug and alcohol Bible study

Compulsive Overeaters Anonymous/HOW

Ham Radio classes
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., is offering a free Ham Radio License class and exam on Wednesdays May 23 and 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Get your FCC Technician License, see equipment demonstration, learn basic electronics, emergency communications and FCC rules and regulations. Cancer Awareness Group
