Monday

‘Carry the Flame’
Bill Collins Post 2143, 25190 W. Main St., will be having a dinner and memorial service on Monday at 6 p.m. Dinner will include chuck roll, vegetables, roll and salad for a donation of $8. All dinner proceeds will go towards Carry the Flame Across America. Carry the Flame across America provides financial and educational support for military families and the children of American Armed Forces Personnel, both Veteran and Active Duty that may be or have been affected by deployment, disability or loss while serving on our orders. Volleyball camp
Barstow High School will be holding its second annual volleyball camp, hosted by returning varsity players, from Monday through  May 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. It is for all girls ages 12-18.  Alumni who have gone on to play at a college level will be attending. Participants will receive one on one instruction by alumni and the BHS coaching staff. They will also receive a T-shirt. The cost is $20. Events at Barstow Senior Center
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., will be offering the following programs on Monday: Photo group meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. Koffee Klub from 9 to 11 a.m. Enjoy coffee, refreshments, and games. Computer classes from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Lunch from 11:30  a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread and peaches. Scrapbooking group from 1 to 2 p.m. Drop in and check out the other activities that are going on during the day like puzzles and card games and the library has many books to choose from. Toastmasters
The next Toastmasters meeting will be held on Monday, at Barstow College, 2700 Barstow Road, in the Library, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. For information, call 760-247-6017.

Al-Anon meeting

Tuesday

Bingo
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., hold weekly bingo games on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. There will be a Lucky5 in play and 4 power balls with each of those games paying $250. Buy in is $15. Take advantage of the delicious menu at the Bingo Grill. Bingo is open to the public but you must be at least 18 years to play. For information, call 760-256-5023.

BCH Senior Circle to visit Hinkley seniors
On Tuesday The Barstow Hospital Senior Circle, DAAS, and the Visiting Nurses of Barstow will be at the Hinkley Senior Center, 35997 Mt. View Road from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. They will have great information and resources related to your well being. If you want to eat lunch, please call 760-253-4677 for reservations so that there will be enough food prepared. Under 60 years of age must pay $5. Seniors are requested to donate $3, but no senior will be turned away. The monthly General meeting will follow lunch and all are invited to stay. The Center is open week days from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for all activities.

Kindergarten Round-up
Barstow Unified School District will be offering Kindergarten Round-up on the following dates:
• Cameron — Tuesday, May 15 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. 760-255-6260.
• Henderson — Wednesday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to noon or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. 760-255-6250.
• Montara — Tuesday, May 15 through Thursday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 760-252-5150.
• Skyline North — Friday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 760-255-6090.
Child must be 5 years of age on or before Nov. 1. Must have following documents for registration: official birth certificate, immunization/shot records, physical examination, mandated oral health assessment, proof of residency.

U.S. Veterans Support Group
The U.S. Veterans Support Group will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Veterans Home-Barstow in building F. The group was organized to help all veterans, current and former military, as well as their families. Anyone may join the group including civilians. There is a nominal annual fee of $5 per family. The group is a 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization as established by the U.S. government. Any and all donations are welcome. Meetings are normally held on the third Tuesday of each month. Taco Tuesday
American Legion #324, Barstow, 2181 Armory Road, will be serving $1 seasoned ground beef tacos on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Open to the public. Dine-in or take out. All proceeds go towards local scholarships, helping veterans and veteran families. For information, call 760-253-7744 or 760-252-8369.

‘One Step’ drug and alcohol Bible study

Compulsive Overeaters Anonymous/HOW

Ham Radio classes
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., is offering a free Ham Radio License class and exam on Wednesdays May 16, 23 and 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Get your FCC Technician License, see equipment demonstration, learn basic electronics, emergency communications and FCC rules and regulations. Amvets Post 311 meeting

Cancer Awareness Group

‘Ups & Downs’ support group

Tai Chi classes

Barstow Area Republican Caucus meeting
The Barstow Area Republican Caucus will hold its monthly meeting the third Thursday of each month at Canton Restaurant, 1300 W. Main St., at 6 p.m. Arrive early to be served.

NAACP meetings
The Barstow Branch of the NAACP meetings are held on the third Saturday of each month at 3 p.m. at the Barstow Mall, 1860 E. Main St., office #1810.

Bereavement support group
