Parental Alienation support group
Joshua Rose Foundation is starting a support group to provide education, support and coaching for parents who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships with their children due to parental alienation. This includes violation of court orders, refusal of visitation, blockage of contact and other tactics that interfere with the parent child bond. Softball Sign-ups
Sign-ups are also upcoming for Barstow Little League Softball, for girls ages 6-16. Sign-ups will be held on Mondays: Jan. 23, and 30, and on Wednesdays: Jan. 18, 25, and Feb. 1. All sign-ups will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., at Sizzle , 1523 E. Main St. in Barstow.
The cost is $75 per child, with the second child at $70, and three or more at $65 each. A $5 discount for the first child will apply at the Jan. 2 sign-up only; a $10 late fee will be charged at the late sign-up on Feb. 1. Proof of age and three proofs of residency are required. Child’s Play Productions holding auditions
Auditions for two upcoming plays from Child’s Play Productions, will be held on Tuesday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at InVE Beauty Salon and Supply, 204 N. Third St., (behind Union Bank). This will be a cold read and must be 18 years or older to audition.
Taco Tuesday
The American Legion Auxiliary #324, will be serving $1 hard shell seasoned beef tacos, at the American Legion Hall, 2181 Armory Road, on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Open to the public. Dine in or take out. Free legal help
Do you need help with legal papers? Come to free Legal Aid on the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon, at the Cora Harper Fitness Center, 851 Barstow Road (mobile unit in rear parking lot). They can help with family law, guardianship, conservatorship, support, custody, or visitation or parental rights and bankruptcy. Please bring all case documents and information with you.
Sing and Sign
The Barstow Branch Library, 304 E. Buena Vista, is hosting sign language classes on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. Learn simple signs and listen to songs that were designed to practice the specific signs. For information, call 760-256-4850.
Grief and Loss support group

Lions Club
The Lions Club is looking for new members with fresh ideas. The club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at Quigley’s Restaurant, 2841 Lenwood Road, at 7 p.m. The Lions Club donates time and effort to putting the American flags out throughout town on holidays, along with collecting and recycling used prescription eye glasses. Mojave Valley Carvers
The Mojave Valley Carvers meet every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 8 to 11 a.m. If you have an interest in carving come to the Senior Citizens Center, 555 Melissa Ave. During the carving sessions one of the carvers will introduce you and show you around.

MRVM general meeting
The General Meeting at the Mojave River Valley Museum will be at 7 p.m.. on January 25. Guest speaker will be Moreena Rocha Chavez of the Mother Earth People Inter-Tribal Council. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge, and refreshments will be served.
Cancer Awareness Group
