BCC seeks new student-designed logo
BARSTOW • Barstow Community College is in search of a new logo and is holding a contest for current students and alumni to design it, according to a news release from the college.
BCC spokeswoman Maureen Stokes said the college is looking to standardize the Vikings logo, seeking a gender-neutral logo which can be worn by men and women and can be used by the college’s athletic teams.
The Viking Athletic Logo Contest is sponsored by the Associated Student Government. According to the release, the submitted logo must include at least one of the following items: a helmet, sword, shield or Viking ship.
The winning logo will receive $200 of Viking Bookstore credit and a BBC T-shirt in addition to recognition at a future board of trustees meeting and in a press release. The best logo will be revealed at the 13th annual Festival of Lights and Learning on Dec. 3.
The contest is open to current students and alumni. An alumnus is considered any person that has taken a class at BBC, according to the release. Multiple entries are allowed. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 20. Submissions time stamped after 11:59 p.m. will not be eligible for entry.
The college is asking that all entries be submitted as a black and white PDF file and submitted to email@example.com.
