Minor injuries in rollover crash
NEWBERRY SPRINGS • A single-vehicle rollover crash Thursday on Interstate 40 resulted in minor injuries.
The crash was reported at 3:13 p.m. in Newberry Springs near mile marker 21, according to California Highway Patrol incident logs.
The sole occupant of a Subaru Outback — a man in his 30s — drifted off the westbound freeway to the right before overcorrecting to the left, Barstow CHP Officer Don Spiker said.
As a result, the Outback rolled into the center divider.
The man suffered scratches and complained of pain, according to Spiker. He was sent to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment.
Traffic was not impacted by the midday crash.
“No real traffic build up,” Spiker said. “It was rush hour, but in that particular area, it’s not (congested).”
CHP was investigating.
