Two injured in I-15 solo vehicle rollover
BARSTOW • A man and a woman were taken to area hospitals Monday following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 15, south of Outlet Center Drive.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol incident logs.
A male driver and a female passenger, both from Northridge, were traveling north on I-15 in a white Nissan Pathfinder when the SUV suffered a partial tread separation to its left rear tire, according to Barstow CHP Officer Don Spiker.
“(The driver) lost control of the vehicle to the right and overturned into the desert,” he said.
The SUV landed on its wheels roughly 50 feet from the roadway.
The man was temporarily knocked unconscious and flown by a CHP area unit to Loma Linda University Medical Center as a precaution, according to Spiker.
The woman complained of pain to her head and was taken by Desert Ambulance to Barstow Community Hospital, he said.
Fire officials from Barstow, San Bernardino County and the Marine Corps Logistics Base responded to the crash.
The crash did not impact traffic.
The CHP was investigating.
