Friday

Dance at Barstow Senior Center
The Barstow Senior Center, will be holding a dance on Friday from 7 to 10:30 p.m., with music provided by Don Livingston. Donation is $5. Please bring a food dish to share.

Karaoke
Newberry Springs American Legion Post 751, 30916 Newberry Road, will be hosting Karaoke on Friday, at 7 p.m. Come and enjoy good food and entertainment. Contact the Post at 760-257-3173 after 1 p.m., on weekdays for information, or after noon on weekends. Karaoke at the Post supports active duty and veteran's programs.

Steak dinner
The VFW Post 2143, 25190 W. Main St., will be serving a steak dinner on Friday at 6 p.m. Donation is $9 and includes baked potato, salad, dinner roll, vegetables. Come on down and enjoy your steak the way you want it cooked. Donation helps support Veterans causes. For information, call at 760 253-2610.

Karaoke at the VFW
The VFW Post 2143, 25190 W. Main St., will have Karaoke on Friday at 6 p.m. until closing. Reminder that the Karaoke contest will be at the VFW Post and contestants please come down and show us your talent. The event supports veteran causes. For information, call 760 253-2610.

Mojave Valley Carvers
The Mojave Valley Carvers meet every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 8 to 11 a.m. If you have an interest in carving  come to the Senior Citizens Center, 555 Melissa Ave. During the carving sessions one of the carvers will introduce you and show you around.

Little League Sign-ups
West Barstow Little League will be holding sign-ups on the following Saturdays: Jan. 7 at the Sportspark during the baseball clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Jan. 14 at Route 66 Pizza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Jan. 21 and 28 at Fogelsong Park from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. A sign-up will also be held on Wednesdays, Jan. 11 and 25 at Route 66 Pizza from 6-8 p.m. Tryouts will be held on Jan. 21 and 28. The cost is $65 for ages 12-and-under, and $75 for ages 13-and-over. A birth certificate and proof of residency required. Bingo
Newberry Springs Senior Center, 33383 Newberry Road, Newberry Springs, will hold bingo the first and second Saturday of each month. Doors open at 5 p.m. with play starting at 6 p.m. Hot dogs will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. The more in attendance, the bigger the jackpots.

‘Christian Dramatic Ministry’
Vineyard Christian Fellowship will host a special presentation by the "Christian Dramatic Ministry" by Dennis Cole. Installation service
Concordia Lutheran Church, 410 Ave. E, will have a installation service for Rev. Timothy Kohlmeier on Sunday at 4 p.m. Rev. Dr. Larry Stoterau will be the installation official at the service, assisted by other circuit pastors of the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Regular Sunday morning worship services are held at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday School and Bible at 10:30 a.m.

Vegetarian cooking
Celebrity chef, Mark Anthony, will offer a free dinner and a message on Jan. 8 at 2 p.m., at Barstow SDA Church, 750 Broadway Ave. Topics will include: learn how to cook vegan, plant based nutrition program, a new healthcare solutions. For information, call 760-718-3398.
