Happy Halloween from Fort Irwin

About 30 children attended the Post Library’s Book Character Costume Party and Contest  Wednesday, Oct. 29.  Costume categories were: Fairy tale, Storybook, Authentic, People’s Choice, Original, Chapter Book and Comic Book. Activities included a scavenger hunt for the older children and story reading and arts and crafts for the younger children. The PTA donated drinks for the party and the community donated food used for Halloween treats.

Top left: Clancy Kimble, 4, creates spider crackers at the Post Library’s Book Character Costume Party and Contest Wednesday, Oct. 29. Her “Madeline” costume won second place in the Storybook category. Clancy is the daughter of Paul and Lori Kimble; Mr. Kimble works at Calibre.

Top right: Morgan Boal, 6, won first place in the Storybook category for her “Biscuit” costume. Morgan is the daughter of Jennifer and Maj. Matthew Boal, 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment.

Bottom: Fairytale characters wait their turn for judging.
