‘New Beginning’ Conference
The Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Barstow, 29041 US Highway 58, will be hosting a free conference Friday through Sunday, “New Beginning” guest speakers will be Mark Baxter, Don Looper, and Todd Volker, all leaders are from surrounding Vineyard Fellowships. Worship in music will be led by Jon Downs and Refresh, and VCF worship team. The Barstow community is invited. Mojave Valley Carvers
The Mojave Valley Carvers meet every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 8 to 11 a.m. If you have an interest in carving come to the Senior Citizens Center, 555 Melissa Ave. During the carving sessions one of the carvers will introduce you and show you around.
Saturday
New Years Eve dance
The Barstow Senior Center, 555 Melissa Ave., will be holding a New Years Eve dance on Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Donation is $10 and please bring a food dish to share. Music will be provided by Don Livingston.
After school youth program
Main St Murals is taking registration for the 2012 after school program, “Animals of the Mojave Desert”, at the Desert Discovery Center, 831 Barstow Road. This is a science, history, and art program supported by Desert Discovery Center Partnership. Registration is open until Saturday, with classes beginning in January 2012 every Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. The program is free and open to ages 8 to 16. Karaoke at the VFW
The VFW Post 2143, 25190 W. Main St., will have Karaoke on Saturday at 6 p.m. until closing. Reminder that the Karaoke contest will be at the VFW Post and contestants please come down and show us your talent. The event supports veteran causes. For information, call 760 253-2610.
