Barstow VFW hosts bike night to benefit veteran
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2143 is hosting a bike night on Friday in conjunction with the Combat Vets Association Chapter 33-6 motorcycle group.
The motorcycle group is made up of combat veterans from all branches of the armed forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby.
John Bostic, CVA spokesman, said all the proceeds of the event will benefit a veteran that is set to receive a home in Victorville in November.
“This is going to be more of a gathering for bike riders to be able to gather without an agenda and just hang out,” Bostic said. “We’re going to raise a little bit of money for our fellow veteran who will receive a home and we’re going to try to get people in to the VFW.”
Bostic said hamburgers and hotdogs will be sold and there will be raffles, music and dancing.
Bostic said Chili’s, Los Domingo’s Restaurant and Barstow Motorcycles are all sponsors of the event. The restaurants have donated gift cards to be raffled off, Bostic said.
Barstow Motorcycles general manager Nate Robinson said they contributed several items to be raffled off.
“We’re happy to sponsor the event because we support our troops and motorcycle events,” Robinson said.
The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the VFW Post 2143, located at 25190 West Main Street.
