BARSTOW • A woman is in custody and is set to be arraigned on a felony charge Friday after a two-week investigation led to her arrest on suspicion of selling cocaine.

At approximately 8:14 a.m. Wednesday, the Barstow Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the SunCrest Apartment Complex in the 200 block of North Yucca Avenue, according to a news release from the Police Department.

During the search, Latanya Nanakobi was found in possession of a half-ounce of cocaine and $1,319, the release states. The money found in Nanakobi’s possession is believed to have been obtained through illegal transactions from the residence, according to the release.

Nanakobi, 35, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony, and could face up to four years in county jail.

Nanakobi is scheduled to appear in court on Friday and is currently being held at Barstow Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, booking records show.
