Four arrested on burglary, auto theft charges
BARSTOW • Deputies arrested four people on suspicion of burglary and auto theft, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Barstow Station.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday, Deputy Cody Korkotsakis conducted a vehicle check on two pickup trucks on the side of the road in Newberry Springs, the release stated. A records check revealed that one of the trucks was stolen from Casey Auto Sales in Barstow.
The vehicles were believed by deputies to be connected to a Newberry Springs residence that was burglarized, but the theft had not been reported, the release stated. The owner of the residence was able to positively identify his property.
Jarred Sessler, 24, Jennifer Alvarez, 21, Jessica Corley, 29, and Strader Surratt, 28, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and auto theft, the release stated.
Upon further investigation, Korkotsakis was able to recover another stolen vehicle and approximately $30,000 worth of tools stolen from Ironwood Youth Campground, the release stated.
The four individuals arrested are also suspects in the Ironwood burglary and other theft related crimes in the High Desert, according to the release.
All the recovered property was released to the owner, the release stated.
