Barstow Police awards employees, volunteers

BARSTOW • The Barstow Police Department recently announced the recipients of their annual Employees and Volunteers of the Year awards.

According to a news release from the BPD, the individuals were recipients of the awards for showing “great pride and diligence” in their assignments and service to the City of Barstow and the BPD in 2013.

• Officer of the Year: Frank Benitez

• Reserve Officer of the Year: Jeff Eason Jr.

• Non-Sworn Employee of the Year: Tiffany Ramirez

• Citizen on Patrol Volunteer of the Year: Dorothy Paige

• Explorer Volunteer of the Year: Jason Perry

Benitez, Eason, Ramirez Paige and Perry were selected for their service and dedication to the community, while performing at exemplary levels that distinguish them as the top individuals in each category, according to Chief of Police Albert Ramirez Jr.

“To be selected from the many fine officers, employees and volunteers of the Barstow Police Department is an honor and it is with great pride that we recognize these individuals for their many accomplishments throughout the year,” Ramirez said.
