FORT IRWIN • Residents of Fort Irwin will have a chance to travel back in time to the "Rat Pack" era Saturday night.
The Viva Las Irwin Casino Night fundraiser will take place on the post from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Sandy Basin Community Center. The annual event, in its fourth year, is put on by the Military & Civilian Spouses Club.
Attendees will "be transported to the glitz and glamour that was Vegas in the '50s and '60s," according to a news release.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and all proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward scholarships and welfare grants for the Fort Irwin community.
The Casino Night fundraiser is "inspired by Rat Pack-era casino parties," and will feature a live performance by Frank Sinatra-era vocalist Danny D.
Attendees will be able to "enjoy buffet-style dining, live and silent auctions, and play poker games like Texas Hold 'Em, Black Jack, Seven-Card Stud and Omaha to win tickets for opportunity drawings."
