BARSTOW • Accused of beating up two teens and then stealing their skateboards, Kimona Magalogo Jr., only a teenager himself, is now a convicted felon.
Magalogo Jr., 18, pleaded guilty to robbery as part of a plea bargain with the prosecution during his pre-preliminary hearing Tuesday at Barstow Superior Court, according to court records.
The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office agreed to drop two assault charges and an additional count of robbery as part of the deal, court records show.
Sentencing for Magalogo Jr. is scheduled May 31 at Victorville Superior Court, according to court records.
On March 18, Magalogo Jr. and a 13-year-old boy were arrested by Barstow Police in the 200 block of Hutchinson Street in connection to a fight and theft near Main Street Gym earlier in the day, authorities said.
Two boys, aged 13 and 15, were called to the arrest scene where they positively identified both suspects as the two who jumped them and stole their skateboards, according to authorities.
The skateboards were recovered at that scene, Barstow Police Lt. Mike Hunter said.
The victims were later transported to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Hunter said.
The juvenile was arrested for robbery and booked into San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall in Apple Valley, according to Hunter.
