FONTANA Fontana Superior Court Judge Dan Detienne found sufficient evidence Friday to hold Christian Bunty to answer for the 1995 murders of two locals, according to court records.

Bunty, 41, and co-defendant James Franklin, 41, are charged with two counts of murder as well as robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime in connection with the 1995 disappearances of locals Joseph Riley and Mark Adamson.

Franklin is due to appear at Barstow Superior Court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing, court records show.

He had been serving a life sentence at the Centinela State Prison near El Centro for a separate homicide, Barstow police said in December.

Bunty was arrested Dec. 3 by Barstow Police Detectives in Sandpoint, Idaho, where he had been living, after he and Franklin were named as suspects following police re-investigation, according to previous reports.

Both suspects remain in custody and ineligible for bail, court records show.

Bunty is set to appear again in Fontana Superior Court on Friday, according to court records.
