BARSTOW • The Mojave Water agency will host a mini-tour of its facilities on May 2.
The educational tour is designed to acquaint and inform the community about its role as the region's manager of water resources, an MWA news release states.
The agency manages over 4,900 square miles of the High Desert's water encompassing Barstow, Helendale, Newberry Springs, Lenwood, Victorville, Apple Valley and more.
The tour involves a visit to field sites to show the public first-hand how the facilities operate. Information will be presented including a video explaining how water is transported from Northern California and its importance to the local communities, according to the release.
The tour is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and begin at their office at 13846 Conference Center Drive in Apple Valley. Reservations are being accepted and approximately 20 seats are still available. The deadline to RSVP is April 18. A waiting list will also be established.
