Updated Feb. 8 to correct the number of officers Dorner is possibly suspected of shooting from four to three.

BARSTOW• Barstow Police issued a citizen alert Thursday to warn the public about fugitive Christopher Jordan Dorner, an ex-LAPD officer suspected of multiple murders.

"There is no indication that this subject has any ties to the Barstow area," authorities said in a statement, "although a manifesto issued by the subject indicates he has potential ties to the Las Vegas area."

The manifesto, posted on Dorner's Facebook account, details his anger at being fired from the LAPD in what he claimed was retaliation for filing a complaint against a fellow officer.

Dorner is currently being investigated for the Sunday double murder of a man and woman from Irvine. He is also a possible suspect in the shootings of three police officers — one of which resulted in death Thursday in Riverside.

Dorner is reportedly armed and has made threats to several law enforcement officials from the Southern California area.

The Barstow Police Department is urging citizens to take caution if they encounter the suspect and to not approach him. Anyone with immediate information on the case is asked to call their local law enforcement agency by dialing 911. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call WE-TIP at (800) 78-CRIME.
