BARSTOW Marine Corps Police are still investigating a bomb threat discovered Wednesday at the base's maintenance center, though all buildings were cleared of any threats.

The MCLB Police department learned of a note threatening a bomb found at an undisclosed area at the base around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Public Affairs Officer Rob Jackson said. The buildings of the maintenance center were evacuated while the security staff went from building to building with bomb-sniffing dogs.

MCLB Police held some employees on base until as late as 7:30 p.m. while they checked each building for bombs. Once the buildings were cleared, the employees were released to retrieve their personal items and leave.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Marine Corps Police Department at (760) 577-6666.
