BARSTOW • The Marine Corps Logistics Base is holding employees on base after receiving a bomb threat Wednesday, officials reported.
The MCLB Police department learned of a note threatening a bomb found at an undisclosed area at the base around 3 p.m. Public Affairs Officer Rob Jackson said. The buildings of the maintenance center were evacuated while the security staff searched for a bomb.
Some MCLB employees are still being held on site while their buildings are being checked for bombs. Once the buildings are cleared, the employees will be released to retrieve their personal items and leave. Those employees are being held for an "undetermined" amount of time, Jackson said
