BARSTOW Investigating authorities released photos of a suspect and his possible look-out in Monday's shooting at a local auto dealer.

According to Barstow Police Department reports, a man entered Superior Auto Sales, 916 East Main Street, with a woman who initially appeared interested in purchasing a car.

The woman, said to be a lookout, then stayed at the auto lot as the suspect went to his car and returned armed with an M-16 assault rifle, according to reports.

The suspect of possible Middle Eastern descent, bald, and clean shaven returned and shot an employee at the dealership. The woman Hispanic, thin, with brown blonde hair and the suspect then fled the area in a burgundy 1990s-model Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Reports say the gunman fired only one shot.

The victim was shot once in the arm leading to a secondary wound to the chest, according to Barstow Police Sgt. Andy Espinoza Sr.

Police are still unclear of the motive.
